Picture
Maracas have an actual pitch. Generally used in Latin percussion.
- For more control and volume control play with matched grip as though you were playing snare drum
- For a staccato (short) sound place your index finger over the maracas.

Sleigh-bells

Hold in left hand with handle up and bells facing to the ground
- Strike the handle of the bells first to fist.

Thumb Roll
Shake Roll: Make sure you start the note and end the note.

Rolls: Top part of the triangle is going to be a high pitched roll


Woodblock

- Cup Hand Underneath or place on soft padded towel or pad to play with two mallets for past passages
- Should always be played with a hard or medium mallet
