Q: Can
I choose a song that is not on this year’s approved jury list?
A: ONLY if you are taking voice lessons and your teacher has helped you to select an appropriate song.
Q: How do I know which song I should choose?
A: Find a piece that is comfortable within your range and that will be challenging, but not overly difficult. If you’re stumped, Ask for help!
Q: What if I choose not to complete a jury?
A: Your grade will suffer; juries equal 25% of your total grade in the class. Your spot in the ensemble may be given to another deserving student.
Q: Can my friends or family come watch me?
A: Yes
Q: What if I’m sick during my jury slot?
A: You need to contact Mr. Scherr BEFORE your scheduled slot and follow up later to find a makeup time.
Q: If I get nervous and make a mistake during my jury, will my grade be affected?
A: If you demonstrate that you have prepared well and done your best, you will earn full credit
Q: Unless YOU arrange for live accompaniment, you will use a pre-recorded track.
